Catalyst

Cody works on many fronts to bring the technology and arts communities together in creative ways. He co-founded a robust Refresh group, produced the highly successful BarCampTexas, pulling more than 200 attendees to Bryan/College Station, and co-founded the BIL Conference. He also has a hand in Rock The Republic: A Spectacle of Sight and Sound.

Creative Director

After his preadolescence foray into fine arts, Roby started designing at age 17 and went into branding and design full-time after graduating. After a short but successful stint at Texas A&M University, he decided to start Always Creative. At the ripe, young age of 26, Roby now serves as Creative Director of Always Creative, Desired Hearts and Rock The Republic. He is also an award-winning identity and print designer with an obsession for good web design.

Media Director at Always Creative

Jeff graduated from The Art Institute of Houston in 2006. He spent a year working at the AIG headquarters in Houston. A year was all he could take of corporate America. He soon moved out to College Station, taking on the role Media Director at Always Creative. He makes time to play in an acoustic duo called Two Capitals and makes a hobby out of shooting and editing video.

Web Developer at Always Creative

Chris began his programming career working in the CPI Insurance industry with Fields Financial Services, and then Teneo Software Solutions. He now collaborates with Always Creative, using WordPress, CodeIgniter, and various Javascript frameworks. Programming influences include Abelson and Sussman’s “Structure and Interpretation of Computer Programs” (SICP), as well as Alan Kay’s “The Computer Revolution Hasn’t Happened Yet”. Chris continues to both learn and unlearn “how” to program computers.

Bill is a WordPress Consultant who helps make client’s websites easier to manage. He’s also an entrepreneur who had a tech startup in the past (Coursevote) and is currently working on a life sciences startup based on technology from Texas A&M University. He is also one of the founders of the BIL Conference, a free unconference run in conjunction with TED.

Adam Houghton

Adam Houghton

iPhone/Software Developer

Adam is a software developer and espresso aficionado. When he’s not optimizing analytics to run on thousands of servers, he creates iPhone aviation apps used by thousands of pilots. Adam is a founding member of the Advanced Computing Lab at SAS, the world’s largest private software company, and a principal at ForeFlight, the leader in iPhone aviation.

Dean unscrambles eggs for a living. He uses Solaris and perl. When not working he makes, judges & drinks beer. Whether working or playing Dean enjoys exercise & sporting, folksy-punk-rockish-bluesy-nerdcore music and mathematics. Dean surrounds himself with the best wife, loving family & great friends.

Jason is a Freelance Web Designer and Client-Side Engineer who helps companies, individuals, and non-profits with a standards-based web presence. He owns Lucky One Design where he builds websites using HTML, CSS and his magical, z-depth spectacles. Two daughters keep him busy at home and attending the occasional wine tasting really floats his boat.

Ryan is an independent marketing strategist and designer/developer hybrid with a concentration on user experience, information architecture, and usability. His clients range from fledgling startups to Fortune 500 companies. He’s currently vice president of the Dallas Chapter of the Usability Professionals’ Association and organizer of The Big Design Conference. He’s been involved with several startups, is a founding member of The Creative Space and RefreshBCS, and helped put on the wildly successful BarCampTexas.

Jimmy is an aspiring renaissance man. Graduating from Texas A&M University’s College of Architecture, he intends to conquer the worlds of gastronomy, viticulture, industrial design, fashion design, and pocket billiards. If it’s a dying art or a guilded craft, Jimmy Tran wants to learn it and master it. Somewhere in there he collects things and when there’s free time, it’s usually Suntory time.
